Review of the Glamour Kills Spring Break Tour

untitled (985 of 998)

The Glamour Kills Spring Break 2015 tour hit Game Changer World in Howell, NJ on April 3. Fans lined up outside waiting to see some great local bands and of course tour headliners Set it Off with support from Against the Current, As it Is, and Roam. The night was set to be a great night based off of the bill but the performances given by each band certainly exceeded expectations and gave fans a great show and a night they will not soon forget.

Any time Black Veil Brides announces a tour, you know that they are going to bring all they’ve got. The energy and hype for a Black Veil Brides show is outrageous, with fans waiting outside for three or four hours before doors open in freezing cold temperatures just to get a good view of their favorite band. With opening bands Drama Club, Set It Off and direct support Falling In Reverse added to the tour, the energy and activity inside Upstate NY’s Upstate Concert Hall this Friday was just where it needed to be.

Review of Punk Goes Pop Vol. 6

Fearless Records is set to release it’s Sixth volume of  “Punk Goes Pop” this Monday, November 17th. The album features Various Artists ranging from metalcore bands August Burns Red and Upon A Burning Body to pop punk groups State Champs and Knuckle Puck. Though it should be said this is an album that gets better over time; give it a few listens and it’s guaranteed to grow on you.

Review of Duality by Set it Off

Set it Off released their sophomore full length album, Duality, on Equal Vision Records today, October 14. The Tampa, FL based quintet takes on a more pop sound in this release but keeps their strong cinematic feel. Duality shows the strong musical abilities of everyone in the group to take on a new style with grace and ease while still maintaining many of the elements that have built the strong and faithful fan base they affectionately refer to as the SIO Family. While the record may take some getting used to for some seasoned Set it Off fans it is certainly worth giving it a fair chance because it’s sure to grow on listeners. The album features guest vocals from Jason Lancaster, former frontman for Go Radio, and label-mate William Beckett.

It’s Like They Never Left Reunion Tour *Covered for Make Waves*

I went to the Lost Horizon in Syracuse last night to see the “It’s like they Never Left Reunion Tour” with We Are the In Crowd, William Beckett, Set it Off, State Champs and Candy Hearts. The venue was absolutely packed, you’d never have know there was a huge basketball game that night for Syracuse with the amount of people at the show. Although during William Beckett’s set screams from the bar were perfectly timed to coincide with the ending of his song.  As a Duke fan I was quite happy to be able to check the score at the bar, but the show was amazing to the point I forgot at times that the game was even going on.
